At one time I was constantly rebatching soap and everyone got soap for Christmas and soap for birthdays...well now I've moved on to candles. Candles and soap together will make a beautiful mother's day gift~
(oh- and they did!)

Spearment Candle:
The first candle I made with an empty milk carton. I used different tones of green and scented it with spearmint.

The second candle is a container candle I made by pouring the excess spearmint scented green into an empty jar.

Lemon Button Candle:
The third candle I made with an over-sized paper towel roll...actually it's a 4 inch piece cut from an empty vinyl roll. I colored it yellow and scented it with lemon marange. I thought it was a little plain looking for a mother's day gift so I stuck buttons all around it. The smell is to die for~

Sage & Citrus Tree Candle:
My 5th candle I'm still working on. I started by melting wax, coloring it green and adding a scent of sage & citrus. Delightful! I poured the wax into an old round pan (which I stole from my mom)...I let the wax sit for 45 minutes then I used a tree shaped cookie cutter and pressed three trees into the wax. There was a little bit of space left so I used an empty tea lite container to press a couple circles. I let these sit another half an hour then I put the pan in the fridge. Don't remember how long I left it in the fridge, boy friend kept calling and I lost track of time. I took the pan out of the fridge, tipped the pan...wax came out nicely in one piece, broke the individual trees and circles out easily...and that's where I stopped. Ended up going over to boy friend's. So here the shapes sit waiting for me to work my magic...which you are just going to have to wait for!

UPDATE: haven't finished the trees! haha, boyfriend is out of the picture and I have all these new candles! Tea cup candles, coffee cup candles scented with chocolate cappucino and vanilla macadamia nuts, a blue bubbly scented with a drakaar noir-ish scent, a swirly pink with peppermint scent and the yellow and orange stripes scented with sex on the beach scented oil and sweet orange.

Back to making soap again!
So far I made a few peppermint bars, spearmint bars, drakaar noir-ish scented bars and banana cream bars.
The banana cream bar irritated my mom's skin, but the other test subjects including myself had no problem with it. They're all made for sensitive skin so I have to find out what didn't agree with my mom's skin!
